The church of Salvatierra de Escá preserves an organ from 1618, recently restored. The municipality, which in 1916 changed its name from Salvatierra to Salvatierra de Escá, shares territory with the Benedictine monastery of Santa María de Fonfría, founded around the year 860 and considered the oldest in Aragón.
