Pascual Bailón was born on 16 May, the day of Pentecost, in this town at the western end of Zaragoza, and at seven years old he went to Alconchel de Ariza as a shepherd. An Alcantarine Franciscan friar, he died in Villarreal in 1592 and was canonised in 1690.
