Church of El Frago Monument · El Frago, Cinco Villas, Zaragoza The church of San Nicolás de Bari in El Frago (Zaragoza) is a 12th-century Romanesque temple, with a single nave and semicircular apse, to which in the 16th century were added a square-plan tower topped with a spire, a Romanist altarpiece that hides the apse, and a high choir. It preserves two Romanesque portals, one on the southern side and the other on the western gable, with carved tympanums and round arches attributed to the Maestro de Agüero; the southern one depicts the Epiphany and a calendar on the archivolts. The whole fabric is of ashlar, with sober decoration except on the portals and tower. It belongs to the diocese of Jaca and was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) on 6 November 2001.
