Museum of Historia de Mequinenza Monument · Mequinenza, Bajo Cinca, Zaragoza The Museo de la Historia de Mequinenza is part of the complex of the Museos de Mequinenza, on Avenida María Quintana, and occupies the former Grupo Escolar María Quintana, a 1927 building by Jorge Gallegos and Antonio Flórez, with an E-shaped floor plan, built of ashlar and roofed with Arab tiles. Its displays trace the history of the municipality and its link with the three rivers that meet in the town — the Ebro, Segre and Cinca — and its strategic role, crowned by the castle. It devotes a section to the abandonment and relocation of the Pueblo Viejo after the construction of the Ribarroja reservoir, and houses the Espacio Moncada, devoted to the literary, photographic and pictorial heritage of the writer Jesús Moncada.
