Roman Mausoleum of Fabara Monument · Fabara, Bajo Aragón-Caspe, Zaragoza Roman mausoleum located on the left bank of the Matarraña river, near the town of Fabara (Zaragoza), popularly known as the Caseta dels Moros. It is a 2nd-century construction, considered the best-preserved monument of its kind in the whole Peninsula, shaped like a small four-columned temple dedicated to Lucio Emilio Lupo. It stands in an area with a high density of rural Roman remains, with several nearby sites and villas. It went almost unnoticed by scholars until 1874, when its existence was reported to the Royal Academy of History; it was privately owned, declared a monumento histórico-artístico (Spain's highest level of heritage protection before the creation of the Bien de Interés Cultural) in 1931, until the State acquired it in 1942. It is well preserved. Photo: ecelan (talk) (CC BY 2.5) What to see and do in Fabara
