Mountain range of la Virgen Nature · Purujosa, Aranda, Zaragoza The Sierra de la Virgen rises south of the Moncayo massif, between the Jalón and Aranda valleys, shared between the Aranda and Comunidad de Calatayud regions (Zaragoza), where the municipality of Purujosa occupies much of its slope. Its highest point is Mount Cabrera, at 1433 metres, followed by the peak of the Virgen de la Sierra, at 1413 metres. The vegetation combines maquis-type scrubland with stands of native junipers and holm oaks, along with pine reforestation carried out during the 20th century.
