Church of Argente Monument · Argente, Comunidad de Teruel, Teruel The church of Argente (Teruel), of Santa María Magdalena, has next to it, separated only by a narrow street, the tower of Argente, the sole standing remnant, along with some sections of walls reused in nearby houses, of the town's former castle. The tower was built in the 14th century, during the War of the Two Pedros between Aragon and Castile, and was later restored and used as the church's bell tower; it has a square plan, five metres to a side, with two tiers, the first battered and the second with two openings for bells. It is listed as a bien de interés cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) of the Aragonese Cultural Heritage. Photo: Juan Carlos Gil (CC BY-SA 3.0 es) What to see and do in Argente
