Naeva, la Cantillana romana Historical milestone · Cantillana, Vega del Guadalquivir, Seville Image of Cantillana, not of the place itself. The Turdetani settlement of Llia or Hipalia became, in Roman times, Naeva, a city mentioned by Pliny, with an important river port on the Guadalquivir and its own mint, which struck coins bearing a female head and a shad fish. In the Later Roman Empire the name evolved into Cantillana when the ending '-ana' was added to the demonym Cantillus. n/a Photo: Raulcantillan (CC BY-SA 3.0) What to see and do in Cantillana
