El señorío de Benacazón bajo los Portocarrero Historical milestone · Benacazón, Aljarafe, Seville Image of Benacazón, not of the place itself. The place name comes from the Arabic Ben Qassum ('son of Qassum'). In 1419 Benacazón became a villa and lordship under Luis Méndez Portocarrero; in 1553 the lordship passed to the Pantoja family, and it was abolished as a feudal jurisdiction in 1810.
