Benacazón, del alquería musulmana al señorío Village · Benacazón, Aljarafe, Seville Municipality of 7,363 inhabitants (2025) and 32.16 km², at 120 m altitude. Its name probably comes from Ibn Qassum, a notable Arab founder of a hamlet in the area; after the Reconquista, Ferdinand III renamed it 'Celada,' a name that did not take hold among the population. In 1250 its lands were divided between doña Mayor Arias and the bishop Remondo of Seville; it reached the status of villa and lordship in 1419 under Luis Méndez Portocarrero, and the Pantoja family owned it from 1553 until the abolition of the lordships in 1810.
