El corazón de Robert the Bruce en la batalla de Teba

Historical milestone · Teba, Guadalteba, Málaga

In the Battle of Teba of 1330, the Scottish knight Sir James Douglas died while carrying the embalmed heart of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, on its way to the Holy Land as Bruce had wished; tradition holds that he threw it against the Muslim ranks before falling in battle. Teba today maintains a symbolic twinning with Scotland because of this episode.
