Castillo de Montemayor

Monument · Benahavís, Costa del Sol Occidental, Málaga

Fortress built in the 8th century for the rural defense of Andalusi territory. In 1273-1274 it was occupied by Marinid troops during territorial conflicts, and in 1485 it passed into the hands of Ferdinand the Catholic along with the rest of Benahavís.
