De villa real a ducado

Historical milestone · Santisteban del Puerto, El Condado, Jaén

Annexed to Úbeda in 1254, it received the title of villa real (royal town) on 15 March 1285, passed to the Benavides family in 1371, became a county in 1473 and a duchy in 1793; the seigniorial regime was abolished in 1837.
