Fortress built over a Muslim alcazaba, together with the Iglesia Prioral de Nuestra Señora del Mayor Dolor, begun in the late 13th century by the Order of Santiago; the complex was declared Bien de Interés Cultural (Spain's highest level of heritage protection) on 25 July 1995.
