In La Redondela stands the largest agro-industrial dovecote complex in Europe, with capacity for more than 36,000 pigeons, commissioned around 1750 by the Ayamonte merchant Manuel Rivero González. Listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Lugar de Interés Etnológico) since 2004, it is in a state of abandonment and appears on the Hispania Nostra Red List of Heritage at Risk.
