Molinos mareales del Río Piedras (Cartaya) Monument · Cartaya, Costa Occidental, Huelva Image of Cartaya, not of the place itself. As it passes through Cartaya, the Río Piedras preserves remains of three tide mills of Mudejar origin and 19th-century construction: the Molino de Aceña or de la Ribera, the Molino de la Punta del Pozo and the Molino de Legrete, the latter the best preserved, with capacity for four millstones. The tide mills of the Huelva coast, including those of Cartaya, were collectively listed in the General Catalogue of Andalusian Historical Heritage by Order of 11 June 2010.
