One of the most notable carnivals in the province of Huelva alongside that of Isla Cristina, with comparsas, chirigotas, quartets and choirs performing at the Teatro Cardenio, a large parade and the traditional Burial of the Sardine on Ash Wednesday. It has been held officially since 1976 and is declared a festival of tourist interest.
