La alquería nazarí de Torre-Cardela y el señorío de los Girón

Torre-Cardela originated as a rural Islamic hamlet of the Nasrid period in the 14th century, part of a network of watchtowers between the castles of Montejícar and Píñar. After the War of Granada, the Girón family obtained ownership and jurisdiction over the place, and in 1559 Hernando Girón Salazar established the lordship of Cardela.
