An Islamic-era fortress from the 9th century, recently restored and reopened to the public on 15 June 2024. The church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, from the 16th century and declared a monumento histórico-artístico (Monumento Histórico-Artístico, Spain's heritage designation in force between 1931 and 1985) in 1976, is known as the 'cathedral of the Subbética'.
