Tintilla de Rota Food and drink · Rota, Costa Noroeste, Cádiz Tintilla de Rota is a sweet red wine made from ripe grapes of the tintilla variety —a synonym for graciano—, of a very dark colour between deep red and violet, full-bodied with sweet and bitter nuances. A traditional crop of the vineyards of Rota, it came close to disappearing in the 20th century and today is gradually being revived to make red wines of the Tierra de Cádiz, either alone or blended with other varieties. Its stocks are limited, but it can easily be found in the wineries and taverns of Rota; for some years now the association T de Tintilla has been working on its preservation and promotion.
