Beach of Camposoto Nature · San Fernando, Bahía de Cádiz, Cádiz Camposoto beach, also called Castillo beach, is an unspoilt beach in the municipality of San Fernando (Cádiz) that stretches for more than 6 km, of which almost 5 are usable, from Punta del Boquerón to Torregorda, already within the municipality of Cádiz. Part of the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, declared in 1989, until a couple of decades ago it was an Army firing range, which has kept it in a semi-wild state; public access was permitted in the 1960s and since the 1980s it has had toilets, beach bars and car parks, receiving the Blue Flag every summer since 2000. In its surroundings, batteries and bunkers from the wars of the 20th century are preserved, today unmaintained, and facing it, on an islet, stands the Castillo de Sancti Petri. Photo: Pablo Jones.
