Mojácar
Village
A white village of Andalusi origin on a hill beside the Mediterranean, admitted in 2013 to the network Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España. After the peaceful capitulation of 1488 it remained depopulated until the Christian repopulation; in the 1950s the painter Jesús de Perceval linked the prehistoric indalo symbol to the town, today a tourist emblem for the whole province.
