Microreserves de flora de Villena

Tres microreserves de flora protegeixen espècies vegetals rares al terme de Villena: Cabecicos de Villena (1994), Cueva del Lagrimal (1994) i Miramontes (2002). La de Cabecicos de Villena, prop del Cabezo Redondo, ocupa 2,39 hectàrees de matolls gipsòfils, únics capaços de suportar l'ambient estressant dels guixos, amb temperatures estivals elevades i fortes gelades hivernals; protegeix plantes prioritàries com la saboneta, la bleda de salobrar, la sajolida borda i l'herniària dels guixos, a més d'una zona de vegetació estepària amb artemísies d'origen iranoturanià que floreix amb anuals gipsícoles a la primavera.
