Dessecació de la llacuna el 1803

La llacuna que ocupava el fons del corredor es va dessecar el 1803 mitjançant una xarxa de canals i assarbs, guanyant 1.704 hectàrees de terra cultivable. L'operació va acabar amb les febres palúdiques i amb un aiguamoll del qual només queden fonts i saladars.
